Wheelchair Cushion Fit & Care FAQ

Choosing a cushion for a wheelchair

MaxCgo’s flexible honeycomb TPE seat cushion can be used in wheelchair seating, but the right fit depends on your chair and individual seating needs. Measure the usable seat width and depth, and make sure the cushion does not interfere with the chair’s supports or controls. For complex posture, pressure-management, or mobility needs, consult your seating clinician or equipment provider.

Frequently asked questions

What does the cushion feel like?

The flexible TPE honeycomb cells provide responsive support. Firmness is a personal preference, so the feel may differ from foam cushions. The cushion also has an open-cell design and a tailbone opening.

Will it stay in place or fold?

A black breathable cover with a non-slip bottom is included. It may help reduce movement, but we can’t guarantee the cushion will stay in place on every chair or during every activity. Check its position before sitting and after transfers. If it shifts or folds, stop and reposition it; ask your seating or equipment provider whether it is appropriate for your setup.

Could it affect transfers?

Check that the cushion’s height and position do not interfere with your usual transfer method or wheelchair setup. Don’t rely on the cushion to stabilize you during a transfer. Follow your established safe-transfer routine and any guidance from your clinician or equipment provider.

Which size should I choose?

Standard measures 16 in × 13 in × 2 in. Extra Large measures 18 in × 15 in × 1.6 in. Compare those measurements with your usable seat area before ordering.

Can I wash it?

Both the TPE cushion and its cover are washable. Follow any care instructions supplied with your item. If you’re unsure about a cleaning method, contact us before washing.
